I’m slippin’ I’m late with my post again. Pepper and I decided to keep our distance the same this week. We ran 3 miles a day on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. We skipped on Friday because I decided to play racquetball for two hours on Thursday night. Pepper was very disappointed in my excuse not to run. She barks and trys pushing me out of bed when we don’t run. But along with racquetball, I’ve also picked up softball on Tuesday nights for a little cross training. We are going to push it up to 4 miles this week as well. With Thanksgiving coming up this week, I’m really going to have to be disciplined and lay off the 4th piece of pumpkin pie, and continue my surge for 13.2 miles. Well Happy Thanksgiving to everyone and I’ll be updating you soon.
Sorry I didn’t get to this on Friday. Pepper (the dog) and I have raised the bar to 3 miles a day. Just like the previous week, we ran 4 days. The cooler temperatures in the morning will take some getting used too. I still manage to break a pretty good sweat though. Well it’s full steam ahead, feel free to give Pepper and I a shout or a honk if you see us running. We stay in the same area, which is Fruit/McKinnley up to Shields then over to Palm and back towards McKinnley on to Fruit. We do zig zag on the residential streets depending on the stop lights. Hope to hear from some of you. Look for a donation link soon. For the meantime you can donate by calling 559.320.2547
Well I started getting up a little earlier this week and put the leash on Pepper (running partner and household pet) and started running. We ran 2 miles on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. We are both a little out of shape and now sore. When I weighed myself on Monday morning I tipped the scale at a whopping 232 lbs. By Thursday morning after the run I was at 228 and then on Friday after the run I was back up to 229. Two steps forward and one step back. My goal in running this half marathon is not to lose weight but to gain some publicity and DONATIONS for a great group of parents, volunteers and kids who are known as the Junior Grizzlies. Feel free to go juniorgrizzlies.org to learn more. Keep checking back for updates on my progress to reaching 13.2 miles and $20,000 by February 1st 2009. Look for a donation link soon. For the meantime you can donate by calling 559.320.2547
Garrett love them kids!
Posted by admin on Wednesday Nov 5, 2008 Under TrainingWelcome to the official website for Garrett Fahrmann’s half-marathon run to benefit the Junior Grizzlies.
I’m running 13.2 miles in Huntington Beach, CA on Super Bowl Sunday (February 1, 2009) to benefit the Junior Grizzlies. Junior Grizzlies, a non-competitive baseball league for children with disabilities, is the flagship program of the Fresno Grizzlies Community Fund, the non-profit arm of the team. The league completed it’s second season in 2008, at the Field of Dreams in Clovis.
So I, Garrett Fahrmann, the Senior Vice President of Operations for the Grizzlies, will do all the running, but we need your help to raise $20,000 for this cause. Stay tuned here for a link to make donations, or call me at 559.320.2547.
Thanks for the support, and keep checking the blog for updates on my training and progress!
