Junior Grizzlies is the flagship program of the Fresno Grizzlies Community Fund. The GCF is the non-profit entity of the Fresno Grizzlies, the Triple-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants. The GCF and Junior Grizzlies are dedicated to providing a rewarding baseball experience for our players, their families and community. It is our goal to give all kids the opportunity to play baseball on a level playing field.

Junior Grizzlies was formed in the Spring of 2007 to give kids with mental and physical disabilities the opportunity to play baseball. The inaugural season of Junior Grizzlies is slated for Sunday, March 25, 2007.

Prior to Junior Grizzlies, the league was known as Buddy Ball. Buddy Ball started over 15 years ago as a recreational league for kids with disabilities. Ran by a group of four Dads, the Grizzlies approached the parents about running Buddy Ball. The league voted unanimously to join Junior Grizzlies in November, 2006.

Now that the league has been formed, it is time to find a home for Junior Grizzlies. This summer, the GCF will be building a field of dreams for Junior Grizzlies. This field will be made of a rubberized surface that will allow for kids to move around the diamond easier.

The GCF is proud to partner with the Clovis Unified School District as a host site for all Junior Grizzlies games.
